Hello everyone— Models Workshop Returns! Here’s what happened since 2020, why the podcast ended, college life, and what’s next for the site and hobby community.it feels like it’s been years since I’ve posted here… and that’s probably because it has been.

A lot has happened since 2020, both in my life and with the After Hours podcast. Today, I want to catch you up on what’s changed, what’s coming next, and where the site and community go from here.

šŸ’„ 2020: The End of the After Hours Podcast

Let’s call it what it was: COVID crushed us. After Hours thrived on talking about conventions, store visits, and in-person gaming. When all that shut down, we ran out of things to talk about. The podcast quietly faded.

šŸ”„ 2023: A Brief Return

I did come back for a short run with Games and Gadgets with Marie. It was solid, but I missed the group dynamic of the old crew. Two-person shows can start to feel repetitive, and eventually life pulled me in a new direction.

šŸŽ“ What Pulled Me Away? College.

In a bit of a midlife curveball, I went back to school. I already had the fast car, so college felt like the next logical crisis.
In three weeks, I’ll be graduating with an Associate of Science in Business Administration. Along the way, I racked up:

  • Over 75 college credit hours (most people finish with 60)
  • Multiple Microsoft Office Certifications
  • Several technical and professional certificates

And I’m not done—I’ve been accepted into a 4-year program to earn a Bachelor’s in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

šŸŽ² Why Come Back Now?

Honestly? I missed this.
My oldest is getting into Warhammer 40k, and a bunch of friends from the 3rd and 4th edition days are picking it up again. The hobby is calling, and I want back in.

šŸŽ§ Is the Podcast Coming Back?

Probably—though maybe not in its old form. I don’t know who from the original crew can return. Many of them, like me, went back to school or took on major life commitments.
But I want to create something—and if I can find others who still share the passion, we’ll make it happen.

🌐 What’s the Plan for the Site?

Here’s what I’m working on:

  • Rebuilding the website with a new theme and layout
  • Posting tutorials when time allows
  • Offering commentary on community news and industry trends
  • Bringing others onboard—Marie, my son, and maybe new voices

One big shift: We’ll be accepting advertisers. Inspired by creators like Linus Tech Tips, I believe you can get paid for your opinions without selling out. Integrity and sustainability can co-exist.

šŸ”š Wrapping It Up

This return isn’t just about nostalgia—it’s about building something new with old roots. If you’ve ever listened to the podcast, been part of the hobby, or just want to see where this goes, I’d love to have you along for the ride.

Let me know you’re out there—drop a comment, share the post, or get in touch. The next chapter is just beginning.
