So if you follow the Facebook page we have been posting some updates the last couple weeks. Since July (sorry all) life just got busy and to be frank what i was trying to do was slowly driving me crazy. Working 70 hours a week at the job that pays the bills and then trying to make sure 5 articles was posted a week was a massive drain on me and to be honest I think the quality of our articles went down.
So moving forward we as a whole are reevaluating what our mission is going to be. One big point is to provide you all the best information possible which means honestly putting more time between articles. So moving forward you may see two articles a week but most times it will likely be an article every week. That way all the proper editing, pictures and information can be researched and completed. Quality over quantity. This also means we will be focusing on certain articles more. Reviews and tutorials are tops for Models-Workshop, as that is what Midge and I found this site on. I would also like to continue our series of Kickass Kickstarter. It was popular and it let us give back to the community, it’s also something that is easy to do from my phone and on the road.
Now some good news, and a little bad. In the last month I picked up several items to help with the production of videos. Most of my recording was done on my phone. I recently picked up a Logitech 920C HD Webcam. I have shot a few videos with it and I am very impressed with what I can do with it. I also added a Sony Bloggie TS550 to my Bloggie TS100, both are HD cameras able to record in 1080p so multiple angles and recording on the go is also possible. Now a lot of videos have great pictures but horrid sound, so I picked up a CAD U39 condenser microphone. Lastly in grabbed Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11. It’s a couple years old but still does some great things. The first few videos I am sure will be interesting but I am learning more and more each time I use it.
Now the bad news. Apparently my laptop did not like the work and fried on me, taking with it several raw video files. The files can be replaced (though the unboxing of Space Hulk will be odd) but now I have no computer in my hobby room to record with so now even more money will have to be spent. I’ll do my best to keep you all updated on this, so keep an eye out here!
