With 16 projects and counting on their record, Impact Miniatures are no strangers to Kickstarter and their experience shows. The wealth of information on their latest project, converting 20 existing Fantasy Football teams to their Trollcast*, stands as a shining example to all. Many Kickstarters we see are big on dreams but short on “tin tacks”, however what impressed me most about the latest offering from Impact is the finer points of detail they give to their potential backers. Rather than having to guess what your reward will look like Impact make it plain what you are investing in and give an excellent run down on the model creation process and production, even to the point of describing what the resin itself will look and feel like.

Beyond all the finer points the eye candy of the Kickstarter is pretty impressive. If you are into your fantasy football there is sure to be something for you in this project. no less than 20 Fantasy Football teams! The list of all your choices is on the page for all to see and it’s hard to bring to mind a race or theme that they haven’t thought of. From the main stream Elves, Humans, Orks and Vampires and similar familiar races, through things like Croc-Men and Amazons to a totally “out there” team of Platypus (close to my own heart!). Many of the teams have some pretty tasty looking single “heroes” as well.
The levels of detail and quality of the casts looks pretty good from what you can see on the project page and many of the kits have options for posing and personalizing. Most mini’s come in a choice of resin or pewter as well. But if you want pewter you best hurry since they are exclusive to the Kickstarter only!

To me this looks like a one-stop shop for anyone needing to put together a Fantasy Football team and the information provided can leave you in no doubt as to what you are getting. Impact’s track record is impeccable so you can pledge with confidence.
One thing to note is there are size different company involved in this kickstarter so you are going to see model sculpts that are bastly different then one another. While some of the models are not my taste there are quite a few that are really nice looking and something that I would want to play.
*Trollcast: All figures will be cast in Trollcast which is a spincast resin and sent unpainted. Please note … resin miniatures mean that the figures do require a bit of work to clean off flash when received and might require either light filing/sanding and/or an occasional bubble fill with Green Stuff or Liquid Green Stuff. We will also include a 25mm slotted plastic base with each figure and 30mm no slot plastic base with each Big Guy figure. Trollcast is a hard (75D) heat resistant plastic resin. It is much harder, and tougher, than normal resin. Trollcast can withstand 320F, and can handle prolonged exposure at 150F with ease (so our Australian friends should not have any problems during the summer). It can be super-glued together, and takes standard miniature paints easily (you need to wash the figures first to remove any mold release agent that might still be on the miniature.)
